Hummer is an American brand of vehicles, trucks and luxury SUVs, founded in 1992. Hummer vehicles are designed for traveling, outdoor and off-road terrain rides. Each Hummer model is distinctly unique. The first model, HMMWV or “Humvee”, was built by AM General Corporation for the United States armed forces in the mid 1980s. In 1992, AM General began with marketing and selling a civilian version of the vehicle. The civilian version of the M998 Humvee launched partly because of the persistence of the action movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who saw the original Humvee while filming a movie. Humvee launched under the brand name of “Hummer”. The brand was sold to General Motors in 1999. The company continued to market and distribute all the vehicles made by AM General, renamed the original model H1 and launched the new models H2 in 2002 (followed by a pickup bed version, the H2 SUT in 2004) and H3 in 2005. The H1 model was discontinued in 2006. By that year, Hummer vehicles were distributed in 33 countries over the world. The Hummer racing team, named “Team Hummer Racing”, was established in 1993 and led by Rod Hall. Team Hummer Racing demonstrated the abilities of this vehicle. Due to the General Motors bankruptcy, the Hummer brand closed in 2010, after a few attempts of selling it. Hummer fragrances are licensed by Elizabeth Arden cosmetic company. The first one was launched in 2004.
